Raiders Legend Fred Biletnikoff Visits Sports Gallery!

HOF'er, Super Bowl MVP & Raiders Legend
Fred Biletnikoff
Signs at Sports Gallery

Fred Biletnikoff Conducts His Second Signing At Sports GalleryOn August 11, 2006, Raiders Legend Fred Biletnikoff made a special in-store appearance at Sports Gallery's Carmel Gallery.

Fred Biletnikoff was an All-American end at Florida State in 1964. Despite this fact, many professional scouts doubted that Fred would make it in the NFL because he lacked speed. But, Biletnikoff parlayed hard work, precise pass routes, and great hands into a Hall of Fame career with the Oakland Raiders. Coach John Madden called him "one of the most dedicated athletes I have ever seen." In Super Bowl XI, Biletnikoff was named MVP in Oakland's 32-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Fred retired after the 1978 season. He had 589 career receptions for 8,974 yards and 76 touchdowns. Fred's trademark was large gobs of a gooey substance known as "stickum" which he smeared on his socks so he could apply some to his fingers before each play. Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988, Fred was a true original and a classic Raider.

Cliff Branch Signs At Sports Gallery!

Signing for over two hours, it was a wonderful appearance as Fred chatted with fans, posed for pictures and signed every type of Raider collectible imaginable. Congratulations to Trevor Borstdorf of Los Gatos, CA who won our raffle for an official NFL football signed by Fred.

Check out our photos from this special event below (more coming soon!). And please visit sportsgalleryweb.com in the future for information on upcoming in-store appearances and signings.

Thank you very much to Fred for a terrific signing. And most of all thanks to all the members of the Raider Nation that made this such a memorable day. Just win baby!
