| In
all of boxing history, Muhammad Ali stands alone. In early boasts,
he called himself "The Greatest,"
and by the time his storied career came to an end, most fight fans
agreed. Ali had become the best-known athlete in the World and,
very possibly, the best loved as well. After winning a gold medal
as a light heavyweight at the 1960 Olympic Games, he turned professional.
Ali, of course, went on to become the first boxer to win the world
heavyweight boxing championship title three different times. Ali
might also be the most-photographed person of all time (he has been
on 38 Sports Illustrated covers alone!). This beautiful
Sports Gallery Exclusive Display
includes three of the most famous shots of Ali - Elivs, Beatles
& Liston. In February of 1973, Ali and Elvis met in Las Vegas.
During the visit, Elvis gave Ali a robe emblazoned with the words
"The People's Champion."
In turn, Ali gave Elvis boxing gloves inscribed "You're
the Greatest" on the right glove. And, of course, they
posed for photographs. In a 1964 encounter with The Beatles, Ali
made the most of the moment, hamming it up for the crowd and leaving
us with some wonderful photographs of this meeting between two pop
culture icons. And, of course, THE photograph of Muhammad Ali, the
award-winning color photo in the middle was selected the "Greatest
Sports Photograph of the 20th Century" by Sports Illustrated
and shows a menacing Ali moments after he laid out Sonny Liston
- a first round, first minute knockout for the Heavyweight crown.
Sports
Gallery Quality Framed, this unsigned display is a wonderful
and timeless piece of Sports Art
that would look great in any office or den. |

Batman,
often promoted as Batman:The Movie,
is a 1966 film based on the television series and the first full-length
theatrical adaptation of the DC Comics character of the same name.
The Film that started it all, so to speak, when it comes to the
Batman Movie Franchise. Released by 20th Century Fox, the film starred
Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. Other stars included
Lee Meriwether, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin.
The film was directed by Leslie H. Martinson, who also directed
a pair of Batman episodes; "The
Penguin Goes Straight" and "Not
Yet, He Ain't," both from season one. This oversized
1966 theatrical poster for Batman, originally issued for promotional
purposes is signed by the star Adam West.

| Assistant
Greenskeeper Carl Spackler (played by Bill Murray) is about to start
WWIII - against a gopher. Pompous Judge Smails plays golf to win
but his nubile niece Lacey Underall wants to score her own way.
Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And loudmouth
Bushwood Guest Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot
putt. Such is Caddyshack, the 1980 comedy that has become
a low-brow classic. Caddyshack is about the scheme of a vulgar land
developer (Al Czervik played by the incomprable Rodney Dangerfield)
who wants to build condominiums on the site of a ritzy country club.
But who really cares about the plot. What made the movie were the
antics of Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight.
With Harold Ramis directing, the comic skills of these four blend
in a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans. And the show-stealer is
obviously Rodney Dangerfield (followed closely by Murray & Chase),
who also happened to be the coolest old dude ever. His outrageous
lines such as "Did somebody step
on a duck?" or
"Oh, this is the worst-looking
hat I ever saw.
You buy a hat like this,
I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?...
Oh, it looks good on you, though."
have
all stood the test of time. Caddyshack has become a cult
classic that fans watch several times a year, reciting every line
of dialogue like the followers of a bizarre comedic ritual. These
unsigned Sports
Gallery Exclusive Displays are simply awesome! All
are Sports
Gallery Quality Framed and feature a commemorative
Caddyshack/Bushwood Country Club Pin Flag. Three celebrate unforgettable
characters (and actors) from the movie - Assistant Groundskeeper
Carl Speckler ("Au Revoir, Gopher")
and Land Developer Al Czervik ("No
Respect") and Playboy Ty Webb ("Just
be the ball...be the ball...be the ball") - and one
highlights one of the great movie tag lines of all time - "Some
People Just Don't Belong." Totally unique collectibles
from a sports movie classic. A great gift for any fan of timeless
film comedies.

Jackie
Gleason & Sam Snead |
| $189
|
Slammin' Sam Snead could hit the ball a country mile with a swing
that was the sweetest in golf. "It was a gift, something you
can't teach," two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange said.
"His hands looked like they were born to have a golf club in
them." Snead, now deceased, was one of golf's greatest players
with seven major championship and a record 81 victories on the PGA
Tour. He brought so much to the game with his great swing and the
most fluid motion ever to grace a golf course," Jack Nicklaus
said. Sam was the only player to win sanctioned tournaments in six
decades. He was also the oldest player to win on the PGA Tour, at
age 52 in the 1965 Greater Greensboro Open, and remained a threat
well into his 60s. He tied for third in the 1974 PGA Championship
at age 62. Five years later, Snead became the youngest player to
shoot his age -- 67 -- in the Quad Cities Open. If that wasn't enough,
he shot a 66 two days later. Snead was famous for his straw hat,
cocky grin and homespun humor. This vintage photograph shows Sam
wearing that very hat and enjoying a round with his good buddy Jackie
Gleason of Honeymooners fame. A great piece of golf history, this
unsigned 16x20 photograph is handsomely framed and matted and would
make a wonderful gift for any fan of golf's glory years.

Vincent
Papale new!
Invincible |
| $249 |
|
Vincent
Papale played three seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles at wide
receiver recording 1 career reception for 15 yards along with
2 fumble recoveries. Yet despite these unimpressive statistics,
Papale was voted Special Teams Captain by his teammates and the
Philadelphia Eagles "Man of the
Year" in 1978. Oh yeah, he was also the subject of
a major motion picture called "Invincible"
starring Mark Wahlberg as Vincent. Not bad for one career reception.
Vince Papale was a teacher at a high school and was coaching the
track team when he successfully tried out for the Philadelphia
Bell of the World Football League. His performance with that team
earned him a meeting in 1976 with head coach Dick Vermeil of the
Philadelphia Eagles, with Papale eventually making the Eagles
and, in so doing, becoming, at age 30, the oldest rookie in the
history of the NFL to play without the benefit of college football
experience (other than kickers). He went on to play wide receiver
and special teams for the Eagles from 1976 through 1978, recording
two fumble recoveries, (including one that led to Vermeil's first
NFL victory), and one 15-yard reception. More importantly, he
won the hearts of the always-tough Philadelphia fans earning the
nickname "Rocky" and
becoming an inspiration to the City of Brotherly Love. This Sports
Gallery Exclusive Display is a great tribute to the
Vincent's "Invincible"
spirit and includes an autographed photograph of Papale, movie
mini-poster and descriptive plate. Quality
Framed in thick black wood, UV-protective glass, and
classic suede double matting, this piece is a beauty and would
look great in any office, den, or movie room.

Daniel
Rudy Ruettiger
Defensive End
University of Notre Dame
Games
Played: 1
Sacks: 1
After 3 rejections, Rudy was finally accepted to Notre
Dame in the Fall of 1974. But what Rudy really wanted
was to play for The Fighting Irish Football Team. Despite
being merely 5'6" and 165 pounds, Ruettiger earned
a place on the Scout Team. In Rudys last home game,
Coach Dan Devine put him in at Defensive End and, on the
final play of the game, he recorded a sack. Rudy was carried
off the field following the game, becoming one of only
two players in Notre Dame history ever to be carried off
by his teammates.

A summary of Rudy "The Movie"
IS very much the story of the real-life Rudy Ruettiger. Young Rudy
dreamt of attending Notre Dame University...and playing on the mighty
Fighting Irish football team. However, Rudy's dream is not the most
realistic of goals: his father, works in a steel mill and can ill
afford to send his son to Notre Dame;
Rudy's grades are not especially impressive; and standing a shade
over five feet tall and weighing a little over 100 pounds, Rudy
is hardly built for the gridiron coming out of high school. However,
Rudy is admitted to nearby Holy Cross and in his junior year manages
to squeak into Notre Dame as a transfer student. Rudy works as an
assistant to the football stadium's groundskeeper to pay his tuition,
studies diligently, and appears at tryouts for the football team.
Rudy is made a member of the practice
team, which means he's little more than a human tackling dummy,
but then-Coach Ara Parseghian is impressed with Rudy's devotion
and determination, and pledges that he'll allow him to dress for
one game before he graduates,
so his name can be recorded as an official member of the team. And
play he does, becoming one of only two players in Notre Dame football
history to be carried off of the field by his teammates following
a game. This inspirational Sports
Gallery Exclusive Display includes a Rudy Ruettiger (the
REAL Rudy) autographed 8x10 and
descriptive plate. A great collectible from a great...and inspirational...moment.
